Messaging
Messaging allows you to instantly engage with other members in your community. Messaging supports one-to-one conversations, as well as group conversations between multiple members.
Creating a chat
To start a new chat, navigate to the Messages page and press the “New message” button. If belong to multiple communities, select the community with the member(s) that you wish to message and then select the member(s) that you want to message.
Note that group chats are limited to 10 members.
Attachments
File attachments can be uploaded to messages. In the message input box, click the paperclip icon and select the attachment from your device. Note that the maximum file size allowed is 25MB.
Voice messages
You can record a voice memo to send as a message. In the message input box, click the microphone icon. You may see a popup in your browser asking you to grant Roundtable permission to use your microphone – to record a voice message you must allow this permission. Press the red record button to begin the voice recording and the stop button to end the voice recording.
You can optionally press the play button to review your recording before sending
Replies
To reply to a message, hover your cursor over the message you want to edit and select “Reply”.
Reactions
To send an emoji reaction to a message, hover your cursor over the message you want to reply to and select an emoji.
Acknowledgements
Messages that have been seen by another member will be marked with a double checkmark. If a message has not been seen yet, only one checkmark will be shown.
Edit / Delete messages
You can edit or delete messages that you’ve sent. Hover your cursor over the message you want to edit, click the vertical three-dot menu, and select “Edit” or “Delete”.
