Welcome to Civic Roundtable! We are so excited for you to join our growing space. This guide will help you get started with using the platform efficiently. Any questions, please contact us at support@civicroundtable.com

  1. Accessing the App

Click to access the app at: app.civicroundtable.com

Login with your username (your email) and password (created by you). Alternatively, use an email code or link to login.

We also support Single Sign-On (SSO) with Microsoft and Google—just select your preferred provider on the login page.

If you enabled two-factor authentication on your app, enter in your two-factor code from the authenticator app or text message.

Alternative Login Options: If SSO does not work due to your organization's firewall, you can log in using your username (your email) and a password you create.

  1. Sign Up

To create an account, enter your email, create a password, and specify whether you want to enable two-factor authentication for added security. After entering your username and password, make sure to verify your email address using the code sent to you.



  1. Create Your Member Profile

Your fellow space members use your Member Profile to better understand your work, skills, and interests. It is often a jumping-off point for new conversations! You’ll be asked to create your profile when you create an account, and you can always edit it later.

Your profile includes:

  • Name (first and last)
  • Role (or job title)
  • Organization (or agency) 
  • Location (or jurisdiction you work in)
  • Field of work (or industry you work in)

You can also add optional information such as:

  • A brief bio
  • Jurisdiction size
  • Contact information
  • Skills and interests
  • Previous organizations
  • Relevant projects

🔹 If you are an elections official working in a state, please specify it clearly. For example, instead of just "Orange County," use "Orange County, CA" to avoid confusion with other jurisdictions.

  1. Navigate the App

From the navigation bar on the top of the application, you have the following options: 

  • Search Bar - Start typing to search across all your spaces and activities - posts, comments, resources, members, etc. Click on the result to navigate to the relevant content. 
  • My spaces - View all of your spaces. From here, you see a description of each space. Clicking on a space will open its landing page.
  • My profile - View and edit your profile.
  • Messages - See your direct and group messages on Civic Roundtable.
  • Notifications - View in-app notifications on recent activity
  • Account Settings - reset your password, change your two-factor authentication settings, log-out.

  1. Explore Your Spaces

Roundtable spaces are where members connect, ask each other questions, and share best practices!  When you enter a space, you’ll see its feed where you can view all posts within a given space. Next to where it says feed, you can view your space members, a consolidated list of resources posted within the space, and a list of events shared in the space. You can use quick filters to find specific content or sort the feed by the newest or most popular posts.

  1. Post in your Spaces

Create a new post by clicking "New Post" at the top of your feed. Add a post title and in the body, you can add formatting, emojis, links, etc. Add an event or poll. Add tags to make your post easier to find later. Finally, upload relevant attachments.  Save drafts of posts before you publish them, and edit or delete your posts at any time.

  1. Interact with Posts

Interact with posts through reactions and comments. In the upper right corner of a post, turn alerts on or off, and copy the link to share that post. View the author’s profile by clicking on their name or profile picture, and click on a tag to filter for posts with that same tag. To react to the post with emojis, hover over the heart. Click on an attachment to view a preview of it before downloading / sharing.

  1. Connect with Members

Messages help you connect to your fellow space members. Send messages to other members through the “Messages” icon or select “Contact” from the “Members” tab in a space. You can view your current conversations, or start a conversation with someone new in your space by clicking on “New message.” 

  1. Navigate Events

Accessed via the Events tab in your space, you can easily view upcoming and past events, switch between a calendar and list view, and add new events. Click "Add Event" to create and share events with your space, or use the "Subscribe" button to sync your space’s calendar with your Gmail or Outlook. You can also search for events across all your spaces using the search bar at the top of your screen, with results ranked by relevance and accommodating typos or past queries.

Plus, with Roundtable Video, you can now host and join video conferences directly within events—keep an eye out for video conferencing options when setting up or joining an event!

  1. Stay Up to Date with “Announcements”

Announcements appear at the top of your Space and highlight important, time-sensitive updates—like upcoming deadlines, emergency alerts, or event reminders.

If you’ve enabled SMS or email notifications, you’ll receive announcements instantly.

To adjust your notification settings, head to Manage Notifications.

  1. Search Across the App

Accessed via the top of your screen, you can easily search for members, posts, resources, comments, and events across all your spaces. Scroll to see your results, ranked based on match relevancy and grouped by type. Click on a search result to go to that content. The search also handles typos and misspelling and allows you to see past searches.

  1. Manage Notifications

Stay up to date with the latest activity in your spaces with notifications. Click the bell icon in the top right corner of your screen, next to your profile image, to view the latest updates in your spaces. To manage your email notifications, navigate to your Profile and select “Notification Settings.”

You can also enable SMS notifications to receive critical announcements straight to your phone. To do this, click on your profile image, select “Manage Account,” go to Notifications, and enter or verify your phone number. Toggle SMS notifications ON for Announcements and save your preferences.


  1. Change Security Settings

Update your password and two-factor authentication settings in your “Account Settings,” which you can access by clicking on your profile icon on the top right corner of your screen. 

  1. Submit Feedback
