Resources
Civic Roundtable offers multiple ways to share and organize resources. Whether you're adding a file, a document, or a link, all shared resources are automatically stored in the resource library for easy access.
➕ Ways to Add a Resource
There are four primary ways to add a resource:
- Creating a Post in the Feed – When you attach a resource to a post, it notifies members (if they have notifications enabled), making it a great way to highlight new materials.

- Commenting on a Post – Adding a resource in a comment ensures it stays within the discussion.
- As Part of an Event – Uploading resources during event creation ensures participants have access to relevant documents.
- Direct Upload to the Resource Library – You can also manually upload a resource directly to the library. Here you can also add a link as a resource to the resource library. When uploading a resource directly to the library you will have to add resources one-by-one and include a title and tags to improve organization and retrieval.

All uploaded resources, regardless of where they are added, are automatically stored in the resource library.
File Size and Security Restrictions
- The maximum file size for an uploaded resource is 5GB.
- Security restrictions prevent the upload of .exe and .svg file types.
📤 Uploading Resources in Bulk
- You can upload multiple resources at once using the Resource Library—just drag and drop as many files as you'd like. Roundtable will automatically generate titles, descriptions, and tags for each file to help keep your library organized. This may take a few moments depending on the number and size of your uploads.

👀 How to view Resources
- Resources attached to posts and comments generate a thumbnail preview.
- Most resources can be viewed directly within Roundtable. You can view the resource by clicking on it when it’s attached to a post, attached to a comment, via a search result, or in the Resource library.
- You can download the resource to your device by pressing the “Download” button.
- You can copy a link to the resource to your clipboard by pressing the “Share” button.
- You can generate an AI Summary of the resource by clicking the "Summarize" button. This feature also works with videos and large documents.
📚 Resource library

- Resources can be filtered by tag, author, or organization of the uploading member. Clicking a tag in the resource table will apply that tag as a filter.
- You can download a resource to your device by clicking the download button.
- You can edit or delete Resources that you’ve added by clicking the “more options” menu of the resource and selecting “Edit” or “Delete”.
