Connecting Slack notifications

Integrate with Slack to receive notifications about activity in your spaces. This integration ensures that you stay informed about discussions and announcements without having to leave your Slack workplace.

How to connect Slack notifications

1. Connect Civic Roundtable to Slack

Navigate to Admin -> Integrations -> Slack notifications section in your Space
Click the Connect button.
Follow the prompts to authorize Civic Roundtable to send notifications to your Slack workspace.
Once connected, the status will update to Connected.

2. Choose Notification Channels

After connecting Slack, you can specify which Slack channels should receive notifications:

Discussion notifications

Select a Slack channel from the dropdown under Channel for Discussion channel notifications.
This will send notifications for posts and comments in your space to the selected channel.

Announcement notifications

Select a Slack channel under Channel for Announcement channel notifications.
This will send notifications for announcements posted in your space.

Sending Notifications to Private Slack Channels

If you want to send notifications to a private Slack channel, you must first invite the Civic Roundtable Slack App to that channel. To do this:

Go to your Slack workspace.
Navigate to the private channel where you want to receive notifications.
Type /add apps and search for Civic Roundtable OR enter @civic roundtable in the channel thread.
Once added, return to Civic Roundtable and select the private channel from the dropdown.

The Slack integration is subject to the Roundtable Privacy policy.
