June 2026 Release Notes
Features, enhancements, and fixes released by Civic Roundtable in June 2026.
Highlights
Create and edit documents together in real time β with cross-organization access built in, so everyone in your workspace can contribute without hitting access barriers.
A new read-only permission level lets members browse, search, and stay informed in a space without contributing content.
Space default notification preferences
Set the default new-post email notification preference for your space, reducing email noise in high-volume spaces.
AI Answers now runs on AWS infrastructure, bringing improved reliability, stronger security, and a foundation for more capable AI-powered features.
Roundtable Documents

Government work runs on documents but most document tools were built for single-organization IT environments. This means partners hit access barriers, feedback fragments across email chains, and no one is sure which attachment is the current version.
Roundtable Documents is a real-time document creation and editing tool built into Roundtable. Because access is based on workspace membership, cross-organization collaboration works out of the box: if someone's in your Roundtable workspace, they're in the document. Multiple people can view, edit, and comment together live. No more sending v4_FINAL_revised back and forth.
Documents also stay connected to the work around them. Rich-text formatting, commenting, and docx and PDF exports are all built in, and @mentions link directly to the people, resources, events, and discussions in Roundtable, so your documents keep working instead of collecting dust. Use them to run better meetings with shared agendas and live notes, collect structured feedback on a draft, or keep a lightweight running record of tasks, owners, and decisions.

Viewer role

Spaces now support a third permission level alongside Member and Space Manager: Viewer. A Viewer is someone who can consume content but not contribute it. This is ideal for external stakeholders like board members or vendor teams, volunteer resource hubs, membership-gated organizations managing guests, or transparency scenarios where content needs to be broadly accessible without opening up discussion.
Viewers can browse and search space content, use AI Answers, receive email notifications, join video meetings, and send direct messages. They can't post, comment, react, create events or resources, or manage space settings. There is also a new space setting - "Default role for join requests" - allowing Space Managers to choose the role automatically assigned when approving a join request.
Space default notification preferences

Space Managers can now specify their space's default new-post email notification preference. This gives high-volume spaces a way to reduce unnecessary email noise, and lets each space choose defaults that fit its communication style. Member choice is always preserved: personal notification preferences still override the space default, and the setting does not apply to members who have already created space-level overrides or turned off new-post emails entirely.
AI Answers on AWS Bedrock
AI Answers now runs on AWS-hosted infrastructure, joining AI summaries, resource tagging, and CRM business card scanning. What this means for you:
- Improved reliability: AI features are no longer dependent on model provider availability and are designed for resilience.
- Stronger security: AI processing now runs entirely within AWS, consistent with our existing GovCloud infrastructure.
- More capable AI-powered features: A more flexible development environment means we can build and iterate on AI features more quickly, with the ability to choose the right model for each use case.
