@ Mentions

Directly reference Roundtable content, making information more connected, easier to scan, and quicker to act on. Type @, and Roundtable surfaces the members, posts, resources, forms, events, and documents you can reference β€” so your writing stays connected to the work around it instead of pointing off to a list of links.

✍️ Where you can use @ mentions

@ mentions work anywhere Roundtable gives you a rich text editor (form descriptions, resource descriptions, event descriptions, and AI Answers can use an @ mention in response):

  • Posts and comments
  • Events descriptions
  • Announcements
  • Space descriptions
  • Documents
  • CRM notes
Mentions in a post

πŸ”— What you can mention

Start typing after the @ and Roundtable will suggest matches as you go:

You can mention

What happens when you do

Members Their name appears as a chip with their avatar, and they get notified when mentioned on a post, in a comment, in a CRM note, or in a document
Posts Links the discussion, with a hover preview of the post
Resources Links the file, with a hover preview
Events Links the event, with date and time on hover
Documents Links the doc, with sharing info on hover
Forms Links the form, with a preview of the form if you’re sharing it via post

You can also use the @ mention button in the formatting toolbar if you'd rather click than type.

✨ RT Tip: Pasting a Roundtable link into a post now converts it to an @ mention automatically β€” so you get the preview and the context without doing anything extra.

πŸ”” Mentioning a member

When you @ mention someone, they receive a notification when mentioned on a post, in a comment, in a CRM note, or in a document. Members control this from their notification preferences, where Post mentions and Comment mentions are separate settings.

This makes @ mentions a good way to:

  • Loop a colleague into a thread that's now relevant to their work
  • Ask a direct question without moving to a DM
  • Give credit or assign an informal follow-up in meeting notes
✨ RT Tip: @ mentioning is a nudge, not an assignment. If something needs to happen by a date, pair the mention with an announcement or a form so it doesn't get lost in the feed.

πŸ“„ Mentioning documents & forms across spaces

You can @ mention a Roundtable Document or Form from any space you're in, not just the space the document is shared with. If the space you're writing in doesn't have view access to that document, the mention popover will tell you β€” as long as you're an editor or owner of the doc.

✨ RT Tip: If a document you expect to see isn't showing up in the @ mention list, check that it's been shared with the space. See Documents for how sharing works.

πŸ‘€ What members see

Mentions render as chips inline with your text. Hovering a chip opens a popover with details β€” a member's role and organization, a post's title and author, an event's date, a document's sharing status, etc. β€” and an option to open the linked item in a new tab.

Members only ever @ mention content that they have access to or @ mention members they share a space with. Mentioning something doesn't grant access to it.

πŸ’‘ Good habits

Situation

Try this

Following up on a past discussion @ mention the original post instead of restating it
Sharing meeting notes @ mention the attendees and the linked event
Announcing a new version of a file @ mention the resource so members can open it inline
Answering a member's question @ mention the resource or document that has the detail
Onboarding someone new @ mention the collection or document that orients them
